October 26th: Building Character

Still working on the character design mentioned in weekly devblog. It’s a different kind of art: It’s a bit frustrating knowing that most of the stuff I’m drawing is never going to make it into the finished piece, but it’s also kind of fun improvising different stuff and seeing what sticks. This is a tricky character though — there’s lots of very specific things I’m trying to hit here, and every time I end up overshooting one even slightly it ends up looking super goofy.

I think I’m satisfied with face and general body shape for the most part — arms could maybe use a bit of tweaking. I’m not sure about the clothes at all and some of the detailing is still up in the air, but I think I’m making progress
