May 1st: Strange Ways

Spent an hour or two today looking through someone else’s pathfinding code and trying to adapt it for my purposes. It’s starting to get beaten into a vaguely usable shape, but the environment it was built for is more complex in some ways (with climbable ladders), while being simpler in others (no sloped tiles). I kind of wish it was a bit more readable, and spread out between fewer files, but I’m starting to get a feel for what the actual algorithm is here.

If anyone’s curious, this is the code I’m working off of: http://ludumdare.com/compo/2013/11/24/path-planning-ai-in-platformer-games-a-layered-approach/
