September 2nd: Slow down

Okay I need to just stop worrying about the deadline, because that shit will drive me bananas. It was fine when I was working on core game stuff, since all of that moves pretty quickly and is, frankly, mostly pretty easy to figure out. Right now, though, I’m hammering away at a system for displaying text on the screen for game events, and it’s really non-obvious what the best way to do that in a reusable and not too terribly unwieldy way. It’s also annoying and not fun. But what-fucking-ever! I think I’m making progress on it, and it will be done in a day or two. Yeah, I’m kinda falling behind, but if I worry about that it will just mess with my head and cause more delays, so… whatever.
