Man! Progress has been really slow for a while, now, hasn’t it? I’m busy with other things, I’m prone to distraction, and I’m bogging down on tedious work. It’s really the perfect storm of not getting shit done on my game. And yet, progress is happening, even if excruciatingly slowly, even if I only manage to work on it for 15 minutes a day for a while.
I’m developing the scroll window class basically from the outside in, writing all of the functionality in a very general sense, as calls to functions that don’t exist yet, and then writing those functions in terms of functions that don’t exist yet, and so forth, until the entire thing is done. I highly recommend this approach, especially if you’re feeling lazy: It is, as programming goes, about as optimal a combination of easy and rigorous as you are ever likely to find.
