December 2nd: Run Down

Exhausted mentally and physically shitty today. Performance is even worse than it seemed yesterday, though with a bit of poking around I at least discovered why this is the case: Apparently, in openFL, the kind of drawing methods I’d been using for efficiency in AS3, blitting pixels directly to a software buffer, are horrendously slow, since they are forced to copy data directly back and forth from CPU to GPU memory. I’m going to have to completely rewrite all of my graphics drawing methods.

It’s a bit depressing.

Hopefully, I won’t have too hard a time figuring out how to do this, since it’s going to be impossible to make any progress on the project while it performs in this manner. Sighh.
